Since April 2008,  in addition to basic services, La Maison Arc-en-Ciel offers a therapeutic riding therapy.  This therapy was integrated into the services offered by La Maison Arc-en-Ciel, providing a different sort of therapeutic benefit to our clients. This therapy lasts six weeks and a variety of subjects are taught weekly.

As the name suggests, this form of treatment uses the horse as a mediator between the therapist and the client.  The relationship with the horse helps to identify the inner suffering in the person.

The relationship with the horse can be greatly beneficial.  This therapy will:

  • Build self-confidence;

  • Increase learning ability & concentration;

  • Develop a sense of autonomy & accomplishment;

  • Increase self-esteem and motivation;

  • Improve the management of emotions;

  • Teaches respect for others;

  • Demonstrates acceptance of responsibility;

  • Encourages cooperation with others.

All those who encounter difficulties, whether it's psychological, existential, relational, behavioural and even physical, will benefit from this therapy.  It has been proven in cases of depression, anxiety and substance abuses.  For this reason, La Maison Arc-en-Ciel has integrated this service into its programming.
